PlayArea OS in Qatar

PlayArea OS runs a kids' play area, soft play centre, trampoline park or family entertainment centre in Qatar: riyals and a tax rate that belong to your organisation, NAPS and cash on their own payment lines, a Friday–Saturday weekend, a staff app in Arabic or English, and WhatsApp as the family channel.

Set up for Qatar

Doha, Al Wakrah, Lusail and Al Khor have long indoor seasons, and a play area in Qatar is a business whose floor fills quickly and empties just as fast. PlayArea OS is the same system a venue anywhere else runs, with the country, the currency, the tax rate, the timezone and the weekend set once for your own organisation.

Riyals and your tax rate

QAR is on the currency list, and the tax rate is a field on your organisation, so you enter the rate that applies to your venue, or zero. The POS, receipts, party balances, purchase orders and profit and loss follow it. The VAT pricing calculator turns a net price into a shelf price and back at any rate.

NAPS, cards and cash

Payment types are yours to define. NAPS, card and cash each get their own line at the POS, and the shift closes with its takings broken down by payment type in riyals, so the cash drawer is counted against cash alone.

Ramadan, Eid and National Day on 18 December

The working week runs Sunday to Thursday, with Friday and Saturday as the weekend, and the weekend is a setting that pricing, rota cover and booking quotes all read.

  • Ramadan. Shift types carry their own start and end times, so a shorter shift is built like any other and taken off the rota again afterwards.
  • Eid. Late evenings and holiday weeks do not look like an ordinary week; forecasting shows expected seats, booked parties and a staffing suggestion ahead of them.
  • National Day. The public holiday on 18 December is a day a family venue plans for in advance, with booked parties and a longer queue at the door.

Arabic for your team and your families

The staff app runs in Arabic or English from a switch in your organisation settings, laid out right to left, with numbers kept in the digits your team reads every day. The waiver, the booking form and the feedback page open on a parent's phone from a QR code with an English and Arabic button, so Qatari and expatriate families alike read and sign in the language they prefer.

The mall unit and the evening rush

A unit inside a Doha mall has a landlord's connection you do not control and evenings that go from empty to full inside an hour. The POS keeps selling when the link drops and catches up on its own, occupancy runs against that branch's own capacity, and every child on the floor sits on one board with a clock matched to the colour band on their wrist. Operating inside a mall covers the rest.

WhatsApp, where families already are

Parties and opening hours are booked and asked about on WhatsApp. One inbox sits in front of the desk and the office, with an answer at midnight in your own words and reminders before a session ends or a party starts. The WhatsApp page covers the setup.

Elsewhere in the Gulf

PlayArea OS runs the same way across the Gulf. The Gulf page sets the countries side by side, and there are pages for the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Bahrain.

Getting started in Qatar

PlayArea OS runs in any modern browser on the devices your venue already owns, and your families, product list and opening balances come across from your old POS or spreadsheets. The switching page walks the move through, and questions go to info@playareaos.com.

Questions

Does PlayArea OS work in Qatari riyals?

Yes. QAR is on the currency list, and the tax rate is a field on your organisation, so you enter the rate that applies to your venue and the POS, receipts, party balances, purchase orders and the profit and loss all follow it.

Can I record NAPS and cash separately?

Yes. Payment types are yours to define, so NAPS, card and cash each get their own line at the POS, and the shift closes with its takings broken down by payment type in riyals.

Can PlayArea OS run in Arabic?

Yes. The staff app runs in Arabic or English from a switch in your organisation settings, and the waiver, the booking form and the feedback page open on a parent's phone from a QR code with an English and Arabic button.

Does the POS cope with mall Wi-Fi?

Yes. If the connection drops, the counter carries on selling; each sale is held on the device and catches up on its own when the link returns, so a busy evening is not stopped by the landlord's network.
