PlayArea OS in Kuwait
PlayArea OS runs a kids' play area, soft play centre, trampoline park or family entertainment centre in Kuwait: dinars and a tax rate that belong to your organisation, KNET and cash on their own payment lines, a Friday–Saturday weekend, a staff app in Arabic or English, and WhatsApp as the family channel.
Set up for Kuwait
A venue in Kuwait City, Hawalli, Salmiya or Al Ahmadi uses the same POS, timers, waivers and rota as every other PlayArea OS venue. What is particular is that the country, the currency, the tax rate, the timezone and the weekend all belong to your own organisation, so nothing is working around a default written for somewhere else.
Dinars and the tax rate you set
KWD is on the currency list, and the tax rate is a field on your organisation rather than a number fixed in the software. Enter the rate that applies to your venue, or zero, and the POS, every receipt, party deposit and balance, purchase order and line of the profit and loss follow it. The VAT pricing calculator takes any rate and any currency label.
KNET, cards and cash
Payment types are yours to define, so the count at the end of the night reads the way your venue actually takes money.
- At the POS. KNET, card and cash each get their own line, and play time, café items, passes, vouchers and party balances ring up in dinars.
- At shift close. The shift closes with its takings broken down by payment type, so cash is counted as cash.
The Kuwaiti week, Ramadan and National Day
The working week runs Sunday to Thursday, with Friday and Saturday as the weekend. In PlayArea OS the weekend is a setting on your organisation, and weekend pricing, rota cover and booking quotes all read it.
National Day on 25 February and Liberation Day on 26 February are public holidays, and Eid and Ramadan change the shape of a family venue's week. Shift types carry their own start and end times, so a Ramadan shift is built the same way as any other, dropped onto the rota for the month and taken off again afterwards. Forecasting shows expected seats and booked parties for the days ahead.
Arabic for your team and your families
The staff app runs in Arabic or English from a switch in your organisation settings, laid out right to left, with numbers kept in the digits your team reads every day. The waiver, the booking form and the feedback page open on a parent's phone from a QR code with an English and Arabic button, so families read and sign in the language they prefer.
A second unit is a branch
A Salmiya unit and a Kuwait City unit are two branches rather than two systems: each keeps its own capacity, cash, shifts, rota and reports under one organisation and one login. Multi-branch covers the setup, and multi-site groups covers the view across them.
WhatsApp, where families already are
A parent booking a party or asking about opening hours does it on WhatsApp. One inbox sits in front of the desk and the office, tied to the customer record, with reminders before a session ends or a party starts. The WhatsApp page covers the setup.
Elsewhere in the Gulf
PlayArea OS runs the same way across the Gulf. The Gulf page sets the countries side by side, and there are pages for the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Bahrain.
Getting started in Kuwait
PlayArea OS runs in any modern browser on the tablets, phones and laptops your venue already owns. Your families, product list and opening balances come across from your old POS or spreadsheets; the switching page walks the move through. Questions go to info@playareaos.com.
Questions
Does PlayArea OS work in Kuwaiti dinars?
Yes. KWD is on the currency list, and the tax rate is a field on your organisation, so you enter the rate that applies to your venue and the POS, receipts, party balances, purchase orders and the profit and loss all follow it.
Can I record KNET and cash separately?
Yes. Payment types are yours to define, so KNET, card and cash each get their own line at the POS, and the shift closes with its takings broken down by payment type in dinars.
Can PlayArea OS run in Arabic?
Yes. The staff app runs in Arabic or English from a switch in your organisation settings, and the waiver, the booking form and the feedback page open on a parent's phone from a QR code with an English and Arabic button.
Can I set the weekend to Friday and Saturday?
Yes. Which days count as the weekend is a setting on your organisation, and weekend pricing, rota cover and booking quotes all read it. Payroll keeps its own default rest days, and an individual employee's rest days override them.
