A venue inside a venue
A kids' zone has a different day from the rest of the park. Children arrive in ones and twos rather than in a queue, they stay for a length of time somebody has to keep track of, and a parent hands over a child rather than a ticket. PlayAreaOS treats the zone as the small venue it is, with its own counter, its own capacity figure and its own reporting line.
What the zone gets
- A POS for play time, café items, socks and party balances, still selling when the park's connection drops.
- Per-child clocks matched to colour wristbands, with time-up alerts, overstay and live occupancy against the zone's capacity figure.
- Waivers signed on a parent's phone at the zone entrance, so a returning family is already on file.
- Party rooms booked from a public form, with deposits, reminders and a month calendar.
- Lost-child alerts that put every phone on the floor on the same page.
Behind it, the rota, payroll, supplier bills, stock and reports run on the same login and read from the zone's own shifts and sales.
Questions
What does it cost to run the zone on it?
The zone pays one subscription for the organisation, billed monthly or yearly. Three bundles cover progressively more of the operation, and the pricing page says what is in each of them.
How do we bring the zone across from what it uses now?
The zone's product list and customer list import from a spreadsheet or a POS export, with a check report showing what would be created before it is. The rest of the park carries on untouched. The switching page walks through it.
What does a supervisor need to carry?
A browser, so the tablet at the zone counter and the phone in a supervisor's pocket are enough. Nothing to install.
Will seasonal staff learn it?
The counter is a screen of tiles, so a seasonal starter is selling on their first shift. The timer board takes a morning, because it is a wall of clocks and colours rather than a report to read.
